A psychological experience showed that the majority did not take the second bet when both questions were asked at the same time. HOWEVER, when the second bet was asked after the first bet was completed, the majority of respondents took the bet regardless of whether they had won or loss money.
This is known as the 'disjunction effect', which refers to a tendency for people to wait for new information to be revealed, even though that piece of information is not relevant, and would not affect decision making.
